Burning Retna has all features to gain an international success so it still makes me surprised they are less known than other bands trying to make music and trying to act like rock stars. Burning Retna does't need to try. The band formed by Mike Cripps (a former LA Guns band, very famous in the 90's too) supported by Chris Bradshaw and Kelly Nickels gave many shows in Los Angeles area.

Eleven songs included in Frozen Lies release should give you a spectrum of Burning Retna creativity. My favourite tracks are 'The Last Thing You'll Ever Know', 'Walk Across The Wasteland', 'Buried Alive' and 'Write My Name In Blood' but there are other songs you might love too. The band's poor management in the 90's didn't help to make Burning Retna known worldwide. Hopefully it's high time it changed while music market and people with a good sense of hearning need more professional music. Just listen to a magical 'The Last Thing You'll Ever Know' and you'll get the idea what I'm talking about.

Burning Retna writes awesome songs, which you can listen wherever you are and whatever you do what's more they still stand alternative. Burning Retna has also amazing past - the band line-up was even Charlie Clouser (yeah that one Saw I score composer and well know remixer, producer, sound engineer working with artists from ranging from Trent Reznor to Collide) and Sean Beavan (excellent producer, remixer and sound engineer, who was carrying about the key productions of Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson or Jerk) at the same time! Bradshaw's clear and characteristic voice (sometimes reminds me Peter Murphy's or Nick Cave's especially in Buried Alive song), deep and warm bass line, distinctive drums, accurate programming and guitars riffs placed where they should be build songs construction in a way you won't find any empty space and any wasted sound. I wish more bands were making such music...
Some of you could describe it like cold wave music, some would find it industrial rock. No matter how, but it sounds like rock! ;) Now, go buy the record and enjoy music you won't find that much these days around! ( Katarzyna NINa Górnisiewicz.
